Cameron Hall Totten is an experienced attorney in California focusing his practice on areas such as consumer bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, debt collection defense, real property litigation, Business Law, Business Litigation, Contracts, ERISA, Unlawful Detainer, and Landlord & Tenant issues.
He routinely handles most litigation matters and also drafts & reviews contracts and agreements. He represents only homeowners and debtors in cases concerning bankruptcy and foreclosure.
Apart from bankruptcy, he also handles mortgage fraud, lender liability, quiet title, foreclosure defense, and unlawful detainer actions on behalf of homeowners. He can thus advise clients all the available legal options and not just bankruptcy who are in jeopardy of losing their home.
Cameron H. Totten understands that filing bankruptcy is necessary to get a fresh start or to reorganize legal and financial affairs in tough economic times, however, he suggests that an automatic stay as per legal procedure helps in preventing property and other assets from getting lost to foreclosure or liquidation proceedings.
The Tulane Maritime Law Journal granted him the Robert B. Acomb, Jr. Award in 1994. He has obtained the membership of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the State Bar of California.
He earned his Bachelor’s of Arts with major in Philosophy and Computer & Systems Science, and minor in Human Services and Society from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1991. He served as a Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Logic while studying there.
He went on to attend the Tulane University Law School and served as a Member of Moot Court Board, chairperson of Interschool Appellate Competitions, and Senior Articles Editor of Tulane Maritime Law Journal.
While in law school, he won David L. Herman and Robert G. Polack Memorial Awards and American Jurisprudence Prize for highest grade in Legal Profession course, and Tulane Law School Scholarship.
Cameron Totten obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1995 and earned the license to practice law in the state of California in the same year.
