Camille Smith focuses her practice on products liability and toxic tort litigation, representing product manufacturers and retailers across the country. Before joining Alston & Bird, Camille focused her practice on the representation of clients in asbestos litigation.
In that role, Camille served on the national coordinating counsel team for an electrical products manufacturer and served as local counsel in several jurisdictions for multiple clients, including manufacturers of fluid sealing devices, industrial equipment, and automotive component parts.
Indeed, for several years she was an integral part of a team that regularly resolved cases for multiple clients on the busy West Virginia asbestos docket, which sees approximately 100 cases per year. In that role, she negotiated settlements on behalf of multiple clients, resolving more than 200 cases per year. Since 2013, she has served as second chair at five jury trials in multiple state courts.
Camille earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University, where she completed the Cecil D. Branstetter Litigation and Dispute Resolution program. She earned her B.A. in English with a minor in philosophy from the University of Georgia, where she graduated cum laude and was a member of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society and the Gamma Sigma Sigma Service Sorority.
