Cara Fonseca advises clients on a wide range of corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity financings, start-up formation, and general corporate governance. She represents public and private companies in a variety of industries, including technology, life sciences and financial services.
While in law school, Ms. Fonseca was an extern at Citibank, N.A. in London, where she worked closely with attorneys and business professionals within the markets and securities services department, focusing on custody and clearing and compliance with EU banking regulations.
Ms. Fonseca was a summer associate at WilmerHale in 2015. Prior to joining the firm, she was a legal intern at the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts in the economic crimes unit, where she researched and drafted memoranda on procedural and substantive issues relating to conspiracy, securities fraud, and mail and wire fraud.
Previously, Ms. Fonseca was a legal administrative assistant at another law firm in Boston, where she worked on matters relating to mortgage lending and consumer bankruptcy. While an undergraduate, she served as a summer intern with the State of Rhode Island Sixth District Court.
