Carl Cole is one of North Alabama’s most high profile attorneys. He has represented professional athletes, platinum selling recording artists and Fortune 500 companies. His broad experience in multiple areas of the law make him the first call for those in need of legal assistance.
Carl Cole has achieved an AV rating, the highest rating available to an attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, who provides ratings from an attorney’s peers and from judges.
He also has been featured in SuperLawyers Magazine as a Rising Star for multiple years and was selected as a Top 40 under 40 trial attorney.
In addition to this recognition, Carl became a registered mediator in 2007 and obtained an LLM in taxation from the University of Alabama in 2010 so that he could give an added benefit to his clients.
Although he rarely handles criminal cases, he was specially appointed to serve as co counsel in the retrial of a man on death row and was instrumental in obtaining a “not guilty” verdict in that case.
Mr. Cole has a diverse practice and has successfully represented both individuals and companies in a wide variety of legal matters. In his early career, Mr. Cole focused primarily on insurance litigation, where he gained valuable trial experience.
Mr. Cole has represented businesses and individuals on various matters ranging from medical and legal malpractice to corporate and tax matters as well as general litigation and insurance matters. He currently serves as counsel for COUNTRY Insurance (formerly Cotton States) and American Century insureds in most north Alabama jurisdictions.
He has and continues to represent numerous insurance company insureds, but also maintains a practice devoted to representing individuals who have suffered injuries. Mr. Cole is registered with the state of Alabama as a mediator. To add additional benefits to his clients, he obtained a Master of Laws degree in Taxation in 2010.
Originally from Boaz, Alabama, Mr. Cole attended Troy State University on athletic scholarship and was a member of numerous clubs and honor societies and represented the University as a Trojan Ambassador.
As a sophomore, he was voted by the faculty as Troy State’s Political Science Student of the Year in 1995 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Troy in 1997. In 2000, Mr. Cole received a juris doctor degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.
While in law school, Mr. Cole served as an Associate Justice of the Honor Court, the Trial Advocacy competition class, in the Student Bar Association and the Farrah Law Society.
