Carolyne J. Hess counsels public and private clients across a spectrum of transactional matters, including commercial real estate, real estate based financing, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues and other corporate matters. She has advised and represented buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and developers in a full range of real estate matters, including acquisition, development and leasing transactions throughout the United States.
While a law student, Carolyne participated in Alabama Law’s Federal Externship Program in Washington, D.C., where she served as a law clerk for the Judiciary Committee of the U.S. Senate. Carolyne also held legal internships in various public and private sector organizations, including the Federal Trade Commission and AT&T. She served as Acquisitions Editor of the Journal of the Legal Profession. While an undergraduate at the University of Virginia, she served on the Executive Board of the Alternative Spring Break student-run service organization.
Carolyne is a member of the Alabama Bar; the Birmingham Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section, Women’s Section; and the American Bar Association, the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section.
