Ms. Casey A. Hatton has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide array of civil litigation matters, including, but not limited to employment disputes, contract claims, business torts, and family law matters.
Ms. Hatton also practices in the areas of insurance coverage and insurance bad faith defense, and is experienced in insurance coverage analysis, litigation and negotiation involving all kinds of policies and claims. She has litigated before both the state and federal courts in California, and has handled many matters through the alternative dispute resolution process.
Ms. Hatton has also represented employees and employers in various employment-related disputes, including cases involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and emotional distress.
She has represented clients in both the public and private sector, and has litigated disputes in both state and federal court. She has also assisted employers by providing counseling and advice regarding employment practices and helps employers develop and implement policies to manage risk.
Ms. Hatton regularly works with clients in terms of alternative dispute resolution. She is an accomplished divorce mediator and enjoys helping families resolve issues and conflicts associated with divorce such as custody, support, property distribution and handling court filings.
Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in May 2017, Ms. Hatton was for three years the director of professional programs at Wevorce. While in that position, she managed the work flow of a large group of attorneys and provided direct client services for elevated, complex and problematic matters.
Before working as the director of professional programs, Ms. Hatton was the lead mediator at Wevorce. In that capacity, she worked with families to resolve the issues of their divorce in a series of meetings, handling extremely high conflict situations.
Ms. Hatton was an associate with the firm from 2006 through 2009 and in 2013. She has prosecuted elder abuse cases and assisted families in resolving custody and dissolution matters. Ms. Hatton began her legal career as a legal assistant for a civil rights attorney in the Bay Area.
