Catherine Tran, born and raised in Los Angeles, is a first-generation Vietnamese-American. Her drive to help people stems from a hardworking family with honest and humble values. Before beginning her legal career, Catherine was a hostess, a canvasser, a nanny, a marketing promoter, and an intern at a non-profit.
Her diverse work experience allows her to connect with people from all walks of life. Catherine enjoys traveling, food, Pilates, documentaries, and the sun. She speaks Vietnamese and conversational French and Spanish.
Catherine received her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she was active in student government and led several student boards. She served as treasurer and president of the International Law Society, co-chair of the Diversity Committee of the Student Bar Association, and was a board member of the Global Justice Advocacy Program.
Catherine has externed for multiple judges at the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board. And she also took part in the International Human Rights Clinic, where she lobbied delegates at a United Nations conference.
Catherine received a Bachelor of Arts in European History from the University of California, Irvine.
Catherine specializes in both employment matters and personal injury law. Prior to joining the Cartwright Law Firm, she practiced family law with an emphasis on adoptions and reproductive services.
In addition to being a member of the California State Bar, Catherine is on the board of the Vietnamese Bar Association of Northern California and volunteers for the Vietnamese Legal Clinic in East Bay. She is also a member of Queen’s Bench and the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.
