
Cathleen Smith has extensive experience representing clients involved in the sale, acquisition, financing, development, licensing, marketing and leasing of commercial and residential real estate, specifically in the resort, recreational and travel industries.
Her clients include developers of all types of vacation and resort projects, timeshare and fractional developments, travel and vacation clubs, condominiums, condo-hotels, subdivisions and mixed-use communities throughout the United States and abroad.
Ms. Smith offers assistance in product development, the establishment of project regimes, the preparation of resort and community documents, and compliance with state and federal registration, licensing and marketing requirements.
In addition, Ms. Smith represents community, condominium and homeowner associations, and offers counseling to boards of directors, advisory committees, property managers and others in association governance, transition of control, adoption and enforcement of restrictive covenants, and daily operations. She also has experience in general corporate and commercial law.
Prior to joining Taylor English, Ms. Smith was a partner with the law firm of Weinstock & Scavo, P.C., where she practiced for more than 16 years. She has lectured on a variety of topics for Lorman Education Services, the National Business Institute and Community Associations Institute of Georgia, Inc., and has authored numerous newsletters and articles for various legal publications, as well as legal books and encyclopedia volumes for The Harrison Company. Ms. Smith is married and has three children.
