
Cathy E. Cretsinger focuses her practice on patent portfolio development and strategic counseling in the Technology and Software industry area. In addition to drafting and prosecuting patent applications, she has assisted clients in the development of patent strategy, as well as infringement and validity analysis in a variety of contexts including opinions of counsel, licensing, and litigation.
Dr. Cretsinger has experience with a range of technologies including microprocessor architecture, 3-D graphics and computer-generated animation, video drivers, wireless communication, networking, photonics and optical devices, memory circuits, business methods and software, and consumer electronics.
Prior to entering the field of law, Dr. Cretsinger conducted research as a graduate student and postdoctoral fellow in the field of experimental high-energy particle physics. Her research projects included software development, mechanical design, optical devices and systems, electronics, data acquisition systems and data analysis. She is a co-discoverer of an elementary particle called the top quark.
