Cecilia Ehresman focuses her practice on employment litigation and counseling, representing clients in a wide range of industries, including hospitality, education, and financial services.
She has experience defending management against various claims of employment discrimination under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), New York State Human Rights Law (NYSHRL) and New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL), wage and hour related litigation under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and New York Labor Law, contract disputes (e.g., restrictive covenants), tort claims arising out of the employment relationship, retaliation, family leave laws, and whistleblower statutes, in both state and federal courts and before government agencies.
She also counsels clients regarding the implementation of employment policies and the handling of personnel issues, such as employee misconduct, family and medical leave eligibility, disability accommodations, hiring and discharge of personnel, civility, service animals, and workplace violence.
