
Charles Reidelbach assists clients in building and managing intangible assets and wealth through diligent strategies of intellectual property protection and enforcement.
His successes have been published in the United States Patent Quarterly (USPQ) Reporter and frequently cited as legal precedent by other intellectual property law specialists.
As a partner and chair of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Group, Mr. Reidelbach represents clients having legal needs in various regulated industries, including medical devices/diagnostics, cloud computing, emerging technologies, food and beverage, sports and entertainment, and publishing.
His responsibilities include building and managing clients’ patent and trademark portfolios, and representing them when faced with intellectual property disputes. His expertise also includes negotiating cloud-based software contracts and advising on issues surrounding privacy and data security.
Mr. Reidelbach’s experience extends beyond law to industry, where he utilized his background in electrical engineering to perform the duties of a missile systems engineer, and further, to management, where he co-founded and managed the intellectual property law firm of Presseisen & Reidelbach, P.C.
He has lectured for the International Trademark Association, U.S. Department of Energy, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, California Western School of Law, the International Symposium of Professional Food Writers, the International Association of Culinary Professionals, Southwest California Vintners Association, and at Firm-sponsored seminars and forums.
His articles have been published by the American Bar Association, San Diego Business Journal, San Diego Daily Transcript, Export Import News Magazine, International Association of Culinary Professionals, and he has been interviewed and quoted as an intellectual property expert by the San Diego Union Tribune and various local television stations.
In addition to his professional involvement, Mr. Reidelbach is a leader in the community. He was appointed by a former San Diego Mayor to serve as a board member and Vice Chair for the San Diego Data Processing Corporation (SDDPC), a non-profit public corporation with annual revenues in excess of fifty-five million dollars and having responsibility for developing and providing information technology to the City of San Diego and other municipalities.
Mr. Reidelbach’s determination and fortitude is exemplified as an endurance sports tri-athlete, having completed many races, including the full-distance Ironman® triathlon.
Mr. Reidelbach maintains his license to practice law before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Supreme Court of the United States and of the State of California, the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Federal Circuits.
