Charlie Shane grew up in Washington in the Issaquah/Sammamish area and graduated from Issaquah High School in 1991. After high school, he served a two-year volunteer mission for his church in Puerto Rico. He attended Brigham Young University (“BYU”) in Provo, Utah, and obtained his bachelor’s degree in International Relations. While attending BYU, he was the co-founder of the BYU Fencing Club.
He went to law school at Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington. While attending Gonzaga, he participated in the Legal Aid Tax Clinic and the litigation support clinic for needy individuals. He also was the Managing Editor of the Gonzaga Law Review. He graduated with honors in May of 2002. After graduating law school, he attended a year-long program with the University of Florida and obtained a masters of law “LLM” in taxation.
Since graduating from law school, Mr. Shane has conducted many successful trials. He enjoys litigation and loves to fight for his clients. The majority of his practice is dedicated to family law disputes with particular emphasis on child custody. He also has experience with other types litigation whether it be a purchase and sale of dispute, a personal injury suit, or a criminal defense case and will occasionally take cases in those areas of law.
His primary office is on beautiful Bainbridge Island, Washington which is a short ferry ride from Seattle. He practices law primarily in Kitsap, King, and Snohomish counties but occasionally takes cases in other counties, such as Jefferson County. He periodically gives free legal advice and time to needy individuals on the Kitsap Peninsula. He resides in Kingston, Washington with his wife and their three boys. He enjoys riding skateboards with his sons, day hiking/walking, watching the Mariners, and spending time with his family.
