Charles R. Mendez focuses his practice primarily on Medical Malpractice litigation but has extensive experience working within a human services capacity throughout the Denver metro area. Prior to joining Burg Simpson, Mr. Mendez worked for the Denver City Attorney’s Office and has spent most of his professional career working in the area of civil litigation.
A graduate of the University Of Denver Sturm College Of Law, Charles Mendez was Co-President of the Spanish Speaking Lawyers Association, as well as a member of the University of Denver National Trial Team. While earning his Juris Doctor, Mr. Mendez coached mock trial teams, assisted a law professor in research and writing, and represented clients as a student attorney in the law school’s civil litigation clinic.
An avid writer, Mr. Mendez has written articles published in several law journals and newspapers. He received the Warren E. Burger Prize for Writing, presented by Justice Ginsburg at the Supreme Court of the United States. He was also selected as the winner of the 2014 Smith-Doheny Legal Ethics Writing Competition, administered by Notre Dame Law School.
