Chet Lott has extensive knowledge and business experience in the private sector and the inner workings of federal and state governments. He has worked on a varied set of issues affecting the defense, energy, shipping, medical and health care, telecommunications and game industries. Specific issues include business development, contract management and procurement, border security matters, maritime and offshore energy projects.
Before joining Squire Patton Boggs, Chet and his three partners, Senator Trent Lott, Senator John Breaux and John Breaux, Jr. formed The Breaux Lott Leadership Group in January 2008. He represented Fortune 100 companies and helped the firm catapult to one of the top political consulting firms in the country.
In 2001, Chet and former Congressman Larry Hopkins (R-Ky.) formed the government relations consulting firm Lott & Hopkins, LLC, based in Washington DC and Lexington, KY. Two years later, he joined the prominent lobbying firm, The Livingston Group, founded by the former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the Honorable Bob Livingston.
Chet was a successful and recognized restaurateur and the recipient of many awards for operational excellence and sales. He is a successful musician with accomplishments including a charitable Katrina relief benefit CD and has raised over US$125,000 for the Southeast Mississippi Chapter of Red Cross.
Chet travels weekly between Washington DC and Kentucky, where he and his wife own Augustus Hill Farm, specializing in breaking thoroughbred racehorses for polo in the bluegrass area of Kentucky.
