Chet has served as lead counsel for clients such as Blackstone, Citibank, L3 Technologies, LG Display, Lion Capital, Nature Home Flooring, Pinnacle Foods, SiriusXM Radio, Siris Capital, Vivint, Inc., Vivint Solar, and Yingli. - Lead counsel successfully defending Chinese solar panel company Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited (complete dismissal) in securities fraud lawsuit pending in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
- Lead counsel for 500.com, a leading online sports lottery service provider in China, in securities fraud lawsuit pending in the Central District of California.
- Lead counsel successfully defending Blackstone (complete dismissal) in civil enforcement action brought by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office concerning the alleged actions of certain of its portfolio companies.
- Lead counsel successfully defending Pinnacle Foods (complete dismissal) in consumer class action lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California concerning the cooking instruction on its packaging.
- Lead counsel for LG Display in a billion dollar antitrust lawsuit filed by Sony in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
- Lead counsel for Lion Capital in federal securities and derivative actions pending in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California in connection with Lion Capital’s relationship with American Apparel.
- Lead counsel successfully defending Vivint Solar (complete dismissal) in consumer class action lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California alleging that Vivint Solar pulled credit reports on consumers without a permissible purpose in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Lead counsel for Suncrest Solar in wage and hour class actions brought by former employees in California state courts.
- Lead counsel for Vivint Solar in declaratory judgment action brought by a former employee in San Mateo Superior Court challenging the enforceability of a non-competition clause.
- Lead counsel for Nature Home Flooring in obtaining $17.2 million judgment against a former officer and director for embezzlement.
Chet was elected to membership in the Firm in 2001. He received his B.A. from Tufts University in 1990 and his J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 1993. Chet currently serves on the board of directors of the Southern California Tennis Association.
