Mr. Christopher Bloom focuses his practice on rendering strategic help to clients in the are of technology and intellectual property. His clients benefit from his extensive knowledge on licensing and franchise issues, international distribution, joint ventures, strategic alliance, intellectual property right and enforcement, licensing agreement and research development.

Mr. Bloom has led litigation in 100 of cases involving patents, trade secrets, copyrights, franchise, trademarks and distribution issues before arbitration tribunals, trial courts and appellate courts. He led his team to success in the landmark trademark case of Qualitex company v Jacobson Products Co., Inc., before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Before his career as a lawyer, Mr. Bloom was a computer programmer. He has extensive knowledge on laws relating to computer hardware and software, internet, cloud computing and data. He has counseled companies in the area of information technology, chaired a business method patent panel at the Computer Law Association in Milan. He has spoken at different conferences including Advamed 2014 conference, CLA conference on trade secret and at the Licensing Executive Society.

Mr. Bloom has served as an arbitrator in both local and international dispute involving cleantech, agribusiness, pharmaceuticals, licensing, joint ventures, medical devices and other business transactions.

Mr. Bloom is a member of the Commercial Panel of the American Arbitration Association, Intellectual Property Advisory Board of Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He has served as the chairman of the Technology Commercialization Taskforce of the Economic Development Council and was a panelist for the Illinois Biotechnology Strategic Plan. He was formerly an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University School of Law. Mr. Bloom is a faculty member at DePaul University School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems’ ecommerce program.
