Christopher Anthony is a corporate partner and a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Groups. He has worked extensively on acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures for both private equity and corporate clients. Mr. Anthony was named a 2019 “Rising Star” for M&A by The Deal.
He is also a contributing author to the Health Care Mergers and Acquisitions Answer Book (Practising Law Institute, 2018) and the Debevoise & Plimpton Private Equity Report. His recent publications include “Introducing Full Equity Backstops to the PE Toolkit,” Debevoise & Plimpton Private Equity Report (Spring 2018) and “PE Jumps into the SPAC Markets,” Debevoise & Plimpton Private Equity Report (Fall 2017).
Mr. Anthony joined the firm in 2009. He received a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2009, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and a B.A. from Duke University in 2005. Mr. Anthony is a member of the Bar of New York.

- Guardian Life in its sale of RS Investments to Victory Capital.
- Guggenheim Securities and Goldman Sachs as financial advisors to Pfizer in its $160 billion acquisition of Allergan (subsequently terminated).

- Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in its $12 billion acquisition of GE Capital’s sponsor lending business, including Antares Capital, the leading lender to middle market private equity sponsors in the U.S.
- Morgan Stanley Private Equity in its acquisition of CoAdvantage, a leading Professional Employer Organization.
- Guardian Life in the sale of its majority ownership in eMoney Advisor, a leading wealth planning software company, to Fidelity Investments.
