Christopher W. Harmon is a partner in the Orange County office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. Mr. Harmon has experience defending businesses and corporations of all sizes, as well as their management and employees, in employment-related lawsuits.
Mr. Harmon has experience in all aspects of employment litigation including the following types of actions: wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour. Mr. Harmon has defended employers in wage and hour audits brought by the Department of Labor.
Mr. Harmon also has experience conducting independent investigations of workplace harassment and counseling employers and their respective employees to proactively avoid employment-related lawsuits.
Mr. Harmon also has an extensive background defending clients in the following practice areas: products liability; general liability; contractual disputes; professional liability; and commercial litigation. He has defended several clients in both State and Federal jurisdictions.
Mr. Harmon has handled numerous cases from the initial pleading stage through the verdict at Trial. He has also successfully served as a second chair in three different Jury Trials to verdict in both general and product liability matters. Two of those three cases resulted in defense verdicts. He has also served as the first chair in a bench trial in a limited jurisdiction matter.
Mr. Harmon oversees the day-to-day handling of cases, and actively participates in all phases of litigation including drafting and responding to written discovery, conducting and defending depositions, assessing potential liability and damages, as well as preparing and arguing pre-trial and trial motions. He also has extensive law and motion practice experience.
