Christopher H. Jones was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Commerce and Business Administration, and was awarded a Bachelor of Science in 1987.
Upon graduation, he received a commission through R.O.T.C. as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves. During law school, he served with the 493rd Military Police Company as a Platoon Leader.
In 1990 he graduated from University of Alabama School of Law, and became licensed to practice law. Jones joined the Tuscaloosa, Alabama law firm of Zeanah, Hust, Summerford & Davis as an Associate in 1990.
He made partner with the firm in 1995, and remained with Zeanah, Hust, Summerford, Davis & Jones until 1999. He practiced in the area of civil litigation with a focus in insurance defense litigation. In 1991, Jones resigned his commission in the U.S. Army Reserves, and he received a direct commission as a First Lieutenant Judge Advocate in the Alabama Army National Guard.
From 1991 until 2001, he served in various positions including Contract Law Officer, Assistant Judge Advocate, Chief Criminal Law, Chief Administrative Law and Contract Law with the 167th COSCOM, Alabama Army National Guard in Birmingham, Alabama. He was promoted to Captain in 1993, and was promoted to the rank of Major in 1998.
Jones left the law firm of Zeanah, Hust, Summerford, Davis & Jones and opened his law office in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1999. He had a general civil litigation practice, representing plaintiffs and defendants.
