Christopher J Donlin was born in Johnson City, NY and graduated from The College of Saint Rose with a degree in English in 2005. I then attended Quinnipiac University School of Law, completing my course work in 2008.
As a law student at Quinnipiac, I was a member of the Mock Trial Honor Society and was the President of the Society for Dispute Resolution. I was awarded the Judge Owen Egan Award for Excellence in Dispute Resolution and the Nancy K. Sulinski Award for my work as a youth official. At graduation, I was also awarded the Outstanding Performance in Oral Advocacy Award.
After graduation, I practiced law for a major insurance carrier, working exclusively in personal injury defense. After two years, I chose to leave my job and start my own law firm in Connecticut because I had a vision of the type of lawyer I wanted to be and the type of people I wanted to represent. I wanted to represent injured parties—not do the work of a big insurance company.
Since I started my own law firm in CT, I have been featured multiple times in the Connecticut Law Tribune for my work defending homeowners in foreclosure. I wrote the cover story in the November 2010 issue of Connecticut Lawyer entitled, “Want to be Facebook Friends? The Growth of Social Media and its Implications on the Legal Profession.”
I have represented hundreds of clients in the area of CT, in personal injury, probate, and Connecticut foreclosure defense. I resolved over a million dollars in personal injury cases in Connecticut, within my of my first three years in practice.
As a member of the community, I feel it is important to be involved both as a financial contributor and a volunteer. I have coached Hamden Father’s Basketball for five years and have been a member of the Executive Board for two years, serving as the Director of the Boys 15-17 year old league.
I serve as legal counsel for the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Corporation and have also judged the Miss University of New Haven and Miss Shoreline pageants. I have been a member of the Greater New Haven Baseball Umpires Association for nine years.
I sponsor a softball team, baseball team, multiple basketball teams for both boys and girls as well as the Hamden Fathers Clinic for 5-7 year olds in Hamden. I sponsored “Hamden Fathers Basketball Night” at Quinnipiac University in 2014 and 2015 and have donated over 1600 tickets to young people and their families to attend a basketball game.
