Christopher Markham focuses on conducting investigations that set clients up for success in front of regulators while always taking into account the possibility of litigation down the road. Chris has significant experience investigating and litigating complex matters. While at Jones Day, he has worked on several large-scale investigations involving data security, government contracts, the False Claims Act, and the Anti-Kickback Act.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Chris served three years as a military prosecutor and Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of North Carolina. During this time he oversaw investigations of crimes involving military installations that were later prosecuted in federal and military courts. Chris prosecuted dozens of cases involving a wide variety of crimes, including cyber and financial fraud.
Chris also completed a clerkship in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island. He is currently a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve where he serves as a judge advocate and civil affairs officer.
