Christopher W. Rabil is a partner and real estate business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. His practice is focused on retail, commercial and multi-family acquisition, development, leasing and finance.
Mr. Rabil has experience in a broad range of commercial real estate matters, including the acquisition and disposition of multi-asset portfolios, multi-family properties, timberland, retail shopping centers, medical office buildings, and commercial buildings. He is a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Real Estate Law.
Representative Experience :
Mr. Rabil’s significant representations with Foley & Lardner LLP include:
- Represented AgReserves, Inc., a for profit affiliate of the Mormon Church, in a $565 million acquisition of approximately 384,000 acres of Florida panhandle timber and rural lands, making the Mormon Church the largest private landowner in Florida.
- Representation of a not-for-profit corporation in connection with a $40 million transaction resulting in the purchase, financing and subsequent refinancing of an 11-story office building at 509 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
- Represented investors in connection with a majority equity investment in Blu Atlantic, a development of a 117-unit multifamily community in Delray Beach, Florida.
- Representation of real estate developer in connection with an $18 million bulk commercial and residential condominium acquisition and related disposition.
- Represented Gilman Paper Products and The Howard Gilman Foundation in the $35 million refinancing of its six sawmills in Florida and Georgia in connection with the reorganization of Gilman Building Products.
Education :
Mr. Rabil earned his law degree from Duke University School of Law (high honors, 2004), where he was elected to the Order of the Coif.
He also holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Florida. He was valedictorian of his class in graduate school, and received highest honors in his undergraduate career.
