Chrystal A. Tomblyn focuses her practice on patent prosecution and counseling in the fields of chemistry and life sciences. Ms. Tomblyn worked with the firm as a summer associate in 2014 and 2015. While attending law school, Ms. Tomblyn was Notes Editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology and served as a legal extern at GlaxoSmithKline and Quintiles.
Prior to launching her legal career, Ms. Tomblyn was a Process Engineer, and then Quality Leader/Process Safety Engineer at Ticona, the engineering polymers business of Celanese Corporation, in Shelby, North Carolina, where she led Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements for the site, and was responsible for the site’s quality and compliance with ISO standards.
Previously, she was a Process Engineer at Cytec Carbon Fibers, a division of Cytec Industries, in Greenville, South Carolina, where she led strategic Six Sigma projects for raw material replacement for Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) Fiber and Pitch Fiber Processes.
Ms. Tomblyn was also a Product/Process Improvement Engineer in the Chemical Division of Milliken & Company in Inman, South Carolina, where she was responsible for several reactor trains, and led plant quality cost improvements through LEAN and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
