Claire Blakey focuses her practice on a variety of international trade matters, including US antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings before the US Department of Commerce and the US International Trade Commission, and disputes arising under the agreements of the World Trade Organization.
She also has experience representing companies in investigations involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and economic sanctions compliance. Finally, Claire advises clients on data protection and privacy laws.
Claire is active in Steptoe’s pro bono program, through which she assisted in drafting an amicus brief on behalf of the Leadership Conference for Civil and Human Rights and the Southern Poverty Law Center in the Fisher v. University of Texas case before the US Supreme Court.
She also represents tenants facing eviction through DC’s Housing Right to Counsel Pilot Project, and counsels survivors of human trafficking in immigration matters. Claire serves as a coordinator for the firm’s Generous Associates Campaign for the Legal Aid Society of DC.
