Clinton S. Morrell is an attorney in the firm’s Litigation practice group, Clinton practices primarily in the areas of homeowners association (HOA) and condominium law. He also has experience in other practice areas, including general commercial litigation and construction defect claims.
Since his early teens, Clinton wanted to be an attorney and never managed to outgrow the idea. After graduating cum laude from Florida State University College of Law, he interned for the Honorable Claudia R. Isom and the Honorable Tom Barber.
He then began his practice representing clients in a range of cases, including personal injury and construction defect claims. Clinton’s practice evolved into primarily representing homeowners and condominium associations in all manner of matters, including:
- Corporate governance
- Assessment collection
- Contract negotiations and disputes
- Developer-turnover issues
Years of experience in representing community associations allows Clinton to effectively handle any issue facing the association from beginning to ultimate resolution through settlement or, where necessary, trial. Equally as important, his experience representing community associations gives him an appreciation of the issues they commonly face and allows him to understand, anticipate, and in some cases help clients avoid problems before they develop.
Clinton frequently leverages the knowledge and experience gained from representing community associations to represent individual owners in disputes against their associations. The broad range of issues facing community associations and unit owners he represents also provides him the experience necessary to effectively counsel non-community association clients in contractual, real property, and other types of disputes.
