
Clinton J. Simpson, shareholder in the Memphis office, concentrates his practice in the area of litigation. Mr. Simpson has significant experience in the areas of securities litigation, transportation litigation and business valuation disputes.
Mr. Simpson’s practice in the area of securities litigation relates to defending national and regional securities firms and their registered representatives in customer initiated arbitrations and employment related disputes, including theft of trade secrets, injunctive proceedings and broker transition cases.
Mr. Simpson also concentrates his practice in the area of transportation litigation. His experience includes representing motor carriers in wrongful death actions including claims relating to DOT violations, negligent hiring, retention and supervision, negligent entrustment and failure to maintain equipment properly. Mr. Simpson also has extensive experience in investigating accident scenes immediately after the accidents occur.
Mr. Simpson’s experience also includes defending premises owners against claims arising from the criminal actions of third parties. His practice in this area includes counseling clients on the prevention of future claims. He also has experience in business valuation disputes including the retention of business valuation experts and litigating these disputes.
Mr. Simpson also has substantial experience in the area of commercial litigation disputes, products liability, personal injuries, condemnation proceedings and election contests. He has handled multiple injunctive relief actions, including obtaining and defending the issuance of TRO’s and hearings for temporary and permanent injunctive relief.
Mr. Simpson has handled cases in Tennessee’s General Sessions, Probate, Chancery, Circuit and Appeal Courts and the United States District Courts for the Western District of Tennessee. He has served on the firm’s Conflicts and Ethics committee for approximately seven years.
