Attorney Mahon graduated with honors (cum laude) from the College of the Holy Cross in 2002 and received his law degree with honors (summa cum laude) from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2005.

While at Quinnipiac, Mahon served as a note and casenote editor of the Quinnipiac Law Review. He was also the recipient of several academic achievement awards for his coursework in Contracts, Legal Research and Writing, and Real Estate Transactions.

During his second year of school, he interned for United States District Judge Janet Bond Arterton.

Mahon was admitted to practice in the Connecticut state courts in 2005. He was also admitted to practice in the Connecticut federal courts in 2006.

He previously worked as an associate at Pepe & Hazard LLP in Hartford where he focused his practice on general commercial litigation, including the defense of construction accidents, premises liability cases, and environmental disputes.

He was previously a pupil in the Oliver Ellsworth Inns of Court. Mahon previously served as a co-chair of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Young Lawyers’ Litigation and Workers’ Compensation Committees.

In 2016, Colin was named a Board Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist by the Connecticut Bar Association.

In order to become a Board Certified Specialist, the attorney must focus at least 25% of his practice in the area of workers’ compensation and go through a rigorous screening process that includes peer review, participation in a minimum number of continuing legal education classes in the area of workers’ compensation and ethics, and passage of a one day examination.

There are only a very small number of Board Certified Workers’ Compensation specialists in Connecticut, and this designation places Colin in a truly unique and select group of attorneys in the workers’ compensation bar.

Attorney Mahon is a member of several professional organizations, including the Connecticut Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Organization for Social Security Claimants’ Representatives.

A member of the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section, Mahon is also an editor of the Connecticut Bar Association’s quarterly workers’ compensation periodical, Compensation Quarterly.

Attorney Mahon is an active member of the Meriden community. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Meriden-Wallingford Chrysalis, Inc., the area’s domestic violence support service agency.

He currently serves as an officer of the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Meriden. He is also an active member of the Meriden Rotary Club and has served on the Board of Directors since 2012.

He also sits on the distribution committee of the Meriden Foundation, a local charitable organization.
