Colleen Kelly Gomos is a partner in the Chicago office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Ms. Gomos is a member of the firm’s Corporate department and represents clients in the areas of commercial finance, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law.
Ms. Gomos actively counsels and represents borrowers and lenders in various types of commercial finance transactions, such as asset-based, receivables-based and cash flow loan transactions, syndications, loan acquisitions, and participations, particularly in the health care industry.
In addition, Ms. Gomos has served as borrower and guarantor counsel for healthcare, educational and cultural institutions in connection with numerous tax-exempt financings. Ms. Gomos also has experience with workouts of credit facilities and acquisitions of distressed businesses. Ms. Gomos acts as general counsel to a number of non-profit and for-profit corporations on a variety of matters such as mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts and compliance.
Ms. Gomos has developed a specific focus on counseling providers of background information (resellers and consumer reporting agencies) on contract matters and compliance under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and state laws impacting background screening. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Gomos served as the law clerk to the Honorable Susan V. Kelley of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
