Colleen A. Murphy’s practice involves the representation of mutual fund companies, investment advisory firms, and other institutional investors in connection with their investments in tax-exempt securities, both new money and workout transactions.
She also has experience in public finance and public agency representation, serving as bond counsel and as counsel to underwriters and borrowers in connection with tax-exempt general obligation and revenue financings. She was part of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Commercial Law Practice until 2005.
During that time, her practice focused on all aspects of bankruptcy and commercial law, including representing secured and unsecured creditors, debtors, executives, landlords, and other parties in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings, workouts, and other insolvency matters.
Before joining the firm, Colleen was associated with another prominent Boston law firm, where she handled insolvency and corporate reorganization matters, and provided advice on creditors’ rights and debtor protection against creditors.
She has written and presented various papers related to the insolvency field. During law school, she was a note editor for Boston University Law Review, a Tauro Scholar, and an Albers Honors Moot Court participant.
