Colton D. Long is an associate in the Labor & Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw’s Chicago office, focusing his work on litigating and advising companies on labor and employment matters throughout the country. Mr. Long has considerable experience litigating and advising on claims or disputes brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act and various whistleblower statutes.
Mr. Long also provides thorough, pragmatic, and timely advice to clients navigating the waters of workforce reductions and restructurings, with a particular emphasis on assisting in compliance with the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act (“OWBPA”) and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (“WARN”).
In addition, Mr. Long litigates and advises employers on general contract, non-compete, and executive compensation disputes. As a devoted advocate and litigator, Mr. Long prides himself on providing thorough and high quality services to employers, large and small.
Before practicing, Mr. Long served as a judicial intern for the Honorable John A. Jarvey of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa and the Honorable Matthew E. Johnson, Judge of the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
