Coy (Trey) Brewer is an associate in the Corporate Department and a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Groups. As a Corporate associate, Trey’s practice encompasses general corporate and business law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, securities law and corporate finance.
Trey advises strategic and financial buyers and sellers in public and private transactions. He also has experience advising financial institutions and companies in connection with securities offerings, financings and general corporate governance.
Trey earned a B.A. from Boston College and J.D. from Columbia University, where he was a Kent Scholar, a managing editor of the Columbia Law Review and a member of the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Team.
While at Columbia, he worked as a legal intern for the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office. Prior to joining Proskauer, Trey was an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York.
