Cynthia Radomsky

Cynthia Radomsky is a partner at the law firm Powell Piper Radomsky PLLC. She exclusively concentrates on Family law. Her practice areas include divorce & separation, child custody & support, post-divorce modifications, and other issues concerning family law.

The Virginia Business Magazine named her in the Legal Elite in 2014. She emphasizes on individual care and focuses on client-centered practice. She has achieved excellence in her legal career through preparation, open communication, and professionalism.

As a reputed trail attorney, she manages to reach a favorable out-of-court settlement through negotiation or mediation for her clients most of the time. However, she presents a clear and persuasive case to the judge when a settlement is not possible.

She has a rich experience of litigating a wide range of family law matters in Virginia trial courts, including identifying and protecting separate property interests, equitable distribution of marital property, civil protective orders, valuation of business interests owned by a divorcing spouse, visitation, and imputation of income to an unemployed or underemployed spouse.

Apart from her trial practice, she has also written appellate briefs and has even presented a winning oral argument before the Virginia Court of Appeals. The Virginia Supreme Court selected her to serve on the Virginia State Bar’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Board from 2014 until 2017.

She is an active member of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of Fairfax Bar Association and has served as its vice-chair co-chair in 2010 and during 2011-2013 respectively. She has also worked on the board of the Virginia State Bar and a member of the Arlington Bar Association.

Cynthia Marie Radomsky has obtained the membership of the family law sections of the Fairfax Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar, and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.

She has indulged in speaking engagements and has also spoken at a 2012 seminar at the Northern Virginia Pro Bono Law Center. She has also served as a panelist at the 2016 Fall Conference of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association.

She has completed the training necessary to practice collaborative law. This process allows the parties to agree to stay out of the court system to resolve their marital problems privately while still within a formal structure. The Collaborative Practice Training Institute granted her a training certificate in 2018.

She is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, Virginia Collaborative Professionals, and Collaborative Professionals of Northern Virginia.

She obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in English from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the year 2001. She went on to attend the William Mitchell College of Law, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

While studying there, she became an active member of the Moot Court Program while emerging Finalist in the Rosalie E. Wahl Moot Court Competition and Regional Semi-Finalist in National Moot Court Competition. She also became the Student Member of Minnesota Women Lawyers and gained achievements in Volunteer Public Service.

Cynthia M. Radomsky obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree with honors in the year 2005. She passed the bar exam and acquired the license to practice law in the state of Virginia in 2006.
