Cynthia Maurer

Cynthia joined the firm in 1991.  She has resolved hundreds of cases for the firm and is passionate about client service. Among her settlements, she negotiated $850,000 on behalf of a child pedestrian who received traumatic head injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

She obtained $385,000 for a 44 year old Fairfax County pedestrian who suffered a serious spinal injury with surgery after being struck by a vehicle. She also negotiated a $283,500 settlement for a motorcyclist with multiple knee fractures received from being struck by a car that ran a stop sign, $320,000 for a driver who suffered knee and shoulder injuries with surgery after an intersection accident, and $257,500 for a passenger in an auto who received knee injuries that required surgery.

She resolved a case through mediation for $415,000 on behalf of a Bergen County man who slipped and fell on ice at a rental property and reinjured his neck requiring surgery. She also obtained a $300,000 settlement for a child in Union County who suffered a serious eye injury after being bitten by a dog.

Cynthia successfully argued Restivo v. Church of St. Joseph of the Palisades, 306 N.J. Super.465 (App. Div. 1998), the published decision holding that religious organizations engaged in commercial activities can be held liable for sidewalk injuries.

In her spare time, Cynthia enjoys hiking, boating, and spending time with her family.
