Daniel Allman

Daniel Allman specializes in cross-border dispute resolution. Mr. Allman represents clients in international commercial and investment arbitration, and has experience in energy, finance, and infrastructure, among other industries. His domestic litigation practice has involved disputes with transnational implications as well as general commercial litigation.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Allman worked as a solicitor in Australia and as an associate on secondment in China. Mr. Allman also worked as a consultant to a United Nations agency in relation to business and human rights issues in Southeast Asia.

Representative Matters :

• A Ukrainian state-owned company in an investment arbitration against the Russian Federation arising from Russia’s unlawful occupation in Crimea.
• An American public entity in an insurance arbitration related to property damage, business interruption, and other loss arising from Superstorm Sandy.
• A Korean company in an ICC arbitration against another Korean company and its Latin American subsidiaries arising from the construction of a power plant.

Pro Bono :

• Representation of global labor unions in international arbitration under the Bangladesh Accord, a legally binding business and human rights agreement concluded in the wake of the Rana Plaza garment factory collapse in Dhaka.
• Representation of non-profit organization that provides support and services to domestic violence victims in connection with a Staten Island Family Court proceeding.
• Representation of mother and child in asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status applications.

• Consultant to the International Labour Organization in Southeast Asia (2014-2015).
