Daniel J. (D.J.) Brick is an associate in Venable’s Tax and Wealth Planning Group in Washington, DC, where he focuses his practice in the areas of tax, estate planning, and estate and trust administration.
He counsels individuals and families on their wealth planning and preservation objectives that includes both general and sophisticated multi-generational estate and transfer tax planning, business succession planning, and charitable planning.
D.J. received his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, where he also completed the Estate Planning certificate program. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law.
Prior to becoming an attorney, D.J. served in the U.S. Navy as an expeditionary and special warfare intelligence specialist. He deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as to Latin America for various force protection missions. He received an honorable discharge in 2012 and is the recipient of several awards and commendations.
