
Daniel “Danny” J. Dysart, a litigation associate in Baker Donelson’s New Orleans office, concentrates his practice in energy, environmental, product liability and mass tort matters. Danny Dysart has the distinction of participating in both the longest civil and criminal trials in the history of the New Orleans Federal District Court. In 2017, he co-chaired a six-week criminal trial involving a sprawling ten-defendant, 47-count RICO Indictment.
Additionally, in 2013, Mr. Dysart spent four months in a complex civil trial involving multiple parties and claims. He was involved in several high-profile and high-impact cases, including litigation stemming from the BP oil spill and the importation of Chinese manufactured drywall into the United States. Danny has experience dealing with legal and regulatory compliance issues under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Recovery and Emergency Assistance Act.
Danny has assisted public entities in their pursuit of public assistance funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for disaster recovery and has assisted clients in navigation of the complex regulatory frameworks.
From that experience, Danny has unique knowledge and awareness of previous policy applications and interpretations of FEMA’s Public Assistance Program. He also has litigation experience in these matters and has assisted in the prosecution of Hurricane Katrina claims in arbitrations against FEMA before the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals.
Danny’s practice also includes representing businesses and executives in a wide range of domestic and international investigations and prosecutions. His experience includes high profile federal and state white collar criminal matters and regulatory enforcement, corporate internal investigations, RICO, conspiracy, fraud and public/official corruption related matters.
