Daniel (Dan) E. Waldman is a partner in the New York office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP and is a member of the firm’s specialist International Employment Law practice. Some of the world’s best-known companies routinely call upon Dan to help them navigate through their most complex international employment law challenges in a commercially-sensible manner.
Dan’s work spans a broad spectrum and has touched on more than 100 countries, ranging from guiding clients on their largest and most challenging transactions to counseling clients on their portfolios of recurring international employment law issues.
Experience in mergers & acquisitions, spin-offs, divestitures, restructurings, and other one-time transactions includes:
- Before LOI, advise boards of directors, executives, M&A lawyers, and bankers on international employment issues of potential transactions
- Conduct multi-country due diligence on employment law ramifications of transactions, including analysis of employment laws in impacted countries, works council and trade union consultation, compensation issues, and evaluate then monetize employment liabilities impacting price
- Post-transaction, counsel clients on integration activities including employee business transfers (e.g., TUPE), harmonization of compensation, policies, and human resource information systems, and workforce rationalizations and restructuring
- Advise on facility acquisitions, sales, and closures
- Instruct on and manage multi-country mass redundancies
He obtained his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Wisconsin and his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Rochester.
