Mr. Daniel Fassio is counsel in the Labor & Employment of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Washington, D.C. office. His experience includes counseling and representing employers on a variety of employment and labor law matters, and has worked with clients in a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, energy, entertainment, retail, health care, and hospitality.
Mr. Fassio focuses much of his practice in the area of traditional labor relations. Mr. Fassio has represented employers in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and a variety of labor arbitrations, including employee discipline and discharge matters and contract interpretation cases. He has provided counsel and training to employers and their supervisors with regard to work stoppages, collective bargaining, and union organizing.
In addition, Mr. Fassio has significant experience with employment litigation in both state and federal courts, as well as before administrative bodies such as the EEOC and federal workplace safety agencies. He has represented employers in claims arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Mine Safety and Health Act, and corollary state statutes.
He has also provided employers counsel on issues such as restrictive covenants, employee handbooks and policies, and wage payment matters. Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw, Mr. Fassio was an associate at an international labor and employment law firm, and served as a clerk at the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.
