
Daniel A. Fleisher is a senior associate who focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation matters. As a summer associate with WilmerHale, Mr. Fleisher assisted in preparing an office action response for a software patent application. He also drafted a memorandum analyzing the supplier exception to the on-sale bar.
During law school, Mr. Fleisher was a legal intern with Dassault Systèmes, where he reviewed and drafted patent claims and performed IP due diligence for acquisitions and joint ventures. He also researched industry patenting trends and legislative proposals concerning patent assertion entities.
Mr. Fleisher also served as a legal intern with the Economic Crimes Unit of the United States Attorney’s Office in Boston and as a judicial intern with the Honorable Alexander H. Sands of the Massachusetts Land Court.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Fleisher was a software developer in the investment banking industry for several years, where he designed systems for equity derivative risk management, cash equities trading and equities research. He also developed software for various other companies in fields such as computer-adaptive testing and medical informatics.
While earning his master’s degree at Cornell University, Mr. Fleisher focused his studies on machine learning and data mining. He authored his thesis on natural language processing with hidden Markov models and structured-output support vector machines.
