Daniel J. Gocek advises public and private clients on a wide variety of employee benefits issues. This includes the design and ongoing administration of qualified retirement plans (including pension plans, 401(k) plans, ESOPs, and 403(b) plans), health and welfare plans, and executive compensation plans.
Dan also counsels clients regarding the employee benefits and executive compensation aspects of mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions, such as the integration and/or termination of retirement and health and welfare plans and the analysis of change in control and deferred compensation agreements.
Before joining McGuireWoods, Dan practiced employee benefits and tax law for firms in Buffalo and Rochester, New York. While earning his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, Dan won the 82nd Annual William Minor Lile Moot Court Competition and was the technology editor of the Virginia Tax Review.
