Daniel Felz is an attorney with Alston & Bird’s Privacy & Data Security practice. Daniel’s practice leverages extensive international experience to advise clients on global privacy, cybersecurity, technology, and adversarial matters.
Dan received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia (Order of the Coif) and then served as an assistant professor of law at the University of Mainz School of Law in Germany, where his teaching focused on cross-border litigation and transactions.
Dan also wrote extensively on U.S. and German privacy and national security law while publishing a 600-page treatise in German on multi jurisdictional class action litigation and the international legal risks it entails for multinational companies.
Dan clerked for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and 68th Judicial District Court of Dallas County.
Dan continues to frequently publish on privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity issues. He also often practices out of Alston & Bird’s Brussels office, where Alston & Bird’s EU Privacy & Data Security Group is headquartered.
Daniel is admitted to practice before the state courts of Texas and New York. He is fluent in German, an intermediate French speaker, and a beginner in Spanish and Arabic.
