
Daniel G. Nelson is an associate in the Corporate Department and a member of the Private Investment Funds Group. Dan works on diverse matters relating to domestic and offshore hedge funds, funds of funds and other private investment vehicles, including providing advice on formation and structuring, management, and ongoing regulatory and compliance obligations.
He also assists clients in negotiating complex commercial contracts including ISDA Master Agreements and other derivatives documentation and prime brokerage agreements.
Dan has a particular interest in anti-money laundering / counter-terrorist financing regulations. He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and a member of the American Bar Association’s International Anti-Money Laundering Committee.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Dan served as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army. He is a graduate of Army Ranger School and completed tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
