Daniel Pierce is an Associate with Fragomen’s Government Strategies and Compliance Group in Washington, DC. In this capacity, Daniel develops and implements offensive and defensive strategies to help corporate and individual clients with their most complex immigration challenges.
Daniel counsels clients facing the prospect of disruption to their immigration business model stemming from formal agency policy changes or unannounced changes in adjudication patterns.
He assists clients with preparation of detailed comments in agency rulemaking, facilitates approaches to key agency personnel, and crafts internal agency appeals.
Daniel also advises individuals facing unique and challenging immigration situations, including public relations or criminal issues that complicate immigration filings or necessitate consideration of alternative options such as asylum.
Daniel leverages his extensive experience as a litigator at one of the country’s top litigation firms to bring suit against the government and achieve favorable results for his clients. On a regular basis, he leads litigation against the U.S. immigration agencies, including through filing mandamus suits to force agency adjudication and through substantive challenges to adverse agency decisions.
Daniel also conducts internal corporate investigations, advises clients on potential immigration-related liability, and partners with clients to create compliance plans that reduce immigration-related risks to their business or personal interests.
Prior to joining Fragomen in 2014, Daniel spent five years as a litigator, where he represented a wide range of corporate clients in complex federal and state litigation. While in law school, Daniel was a notes editor for the Harvard Law Review.
Daniel worked pro bono to obtain asylum for a persecuted former Ethiopian judge.
