Daniel T. Sarrell is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on civil litigation and the defense of medical malpractice cases.
He also represents physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers targeted by investigations of regulatory and licensing boards of the Virginia Department of Health Professions, including the Board of Medicine, Board of Nursing, Board of Optometry, and Board of Dentistry.
Daniel has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in multiple Virginia jurisdictions. He has extensive experience representing healthcare providers from many practices areas, including physicians, nurses, hospitals, dentists, and veterinarians.
He has been recognized by Virginia Lawyers Weekly and the Virginia Medical Law Report for receiving multiple “million-dollar med-mal defense verdicts” from 2012 through 2015.
He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law, where he served as a member of the Moot Court Board and Client Counseling and Negotiation Board. As recipient of a Virginia Law Foundation Fellowship, Daniel worked at the Richmond Capital Defender’s Office during law school.
Daniel graduated valedictorian, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from North Carolina State University. As an undergraduate, he received the Erika Fairchild Prize for most outstanding departmental honors thesis as well as the Phi Kappa Phi Outstanding Senior Award.
