Danielle Barav-Johnson

Danielle Barav-Johnson represents national and international clients in corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, and other insolvency-related matters. Dahni has developed particular experience representing corporate and municipal debtors in chapter 11 proceedings, chapter 9 proceedings, and complex bankruptcy litigation.

In addition, she counsels clients on a variety of in-court and out-of-court insolvency and bankruptcy issues, including with respect to the sale and acquisition of assets under section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code, set-off of debts under section 553 of the Bankruptcy Code, bankruptcy discharges, bankruptcy committees, fraudulent conveyances, preferential transfers, creditor concerns and claims, and fiduciary duties.

Dahni has experience in, among other areas, the energy, food production, transportation and manufacturing, mass tort, and entertainment sectors. Her recent significant representations include the City of Detroit; Alpha Natural Resources, Inc.; Relativity Media LLC; Transtar Industries, Inc.; and Bestwall LLC. She also has represented creditors and other parties in interest in connection with in-court and out-of-court restructuring matters and contingency planning.

Dahni has published articles on a variety of bankruptcy topics, including the safe harbor for certain transactions created by section 546(e) of the Bankruptcy Code and the equitable mootness doctrine.

Dahni has an active pro bono practice, including offering mediation services, securing protective orders for victims of domestic violence, and assisting with immigration matters for clients facing dangerous conditions in their home countries. She is also a member of the Bleckley Inn of Court and IWIRK.
