Danielle C. Pfifferling focuses on patent litigation and prosecution in the areas of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. She also has a particular interest in client counseling in the cosmetic chemistry industry.
Danielle has been involved in all stages of U.S. district court Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) litigation, spanning from pre-litigation patent analysis to post-trial briefing.
Her litigation experience includes fact discovery, development of infringement and validity positions, formulating claim construction, preparing witnesses for deposition and trial, motions practice and briefing, managing day-to-day litigation activities, pre- and post-trial motions practice and briefing, and drafting pre-trial orders.
Danielle also assists clients with strategic counseling matters and patent office trials before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Before law school, Danielle worked as a scientist at Pfizer in the vaccine analytical development department. Her work focused on vaccine drug products for infants. Danielle performed analytical method development for nephelometry and protein assays, qualified assays, authored standard operating procedures, and transferred methods for commercial launch.
Danielle’s pro bono practice includes representing a Rwandan political activist in an asylum case. She is listed on the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll.
