Danna E. Brown is an associate in Venable’s Corporate Practice in the New York office. Prior to joining Venable, Danna was an investment management attorney at Morgan Stanley, where she represented and advised MSIM Inc., an investment adviser, on ongoing operations of the private investment funds and the respective sponsor entities, as well as managed accounts.
She also provided advice to the investment adviser and its affiliates on matters relating to the Investment Company Act of 1940, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and other applicable rules and regulations.
Danna also previously served as a junior legal counsel at Hillsong Music Australia, where she drafted and negotiated contracts for services, marketing, and distribution, music licensing, and oversaw all procedural details of trademark registration and compliance.
Danna has also worked for a nationally known law firm as an associate in its investment management, regulatory, and compliance department, where she represented fund sponsors with a concentration in private equity and hedge fund formation.
