Darwin A. Hindman, shareholder in the Nashville and Washington, D.C. offices, practices in the areas of government contracts and litigation. Mr. Hindman is the head of the Firm’s Government Contracts practice.He represents federal contractors ranging from large defense and aerospace prime contractors to small businesses seeking government assistance and set aside contracts with the SBA.

He teaches the course “Government Contracts” as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Vanderbilt Law School. Mr. Hindman’s public contract law practice includes bid protests, bid preparation, contract management and compliance, disputes, and ethical issues.

He has obtained award reversals and re-bids on behalf of disappointed offerors, defended awards made to prevailing parties, and has successfully assisted numerous government contractors with certified claims, Requests for Equitable Adjustment, small and disadvantaged business issues, False Claims Act allegations, and the negotiation and enforcement of subcontractor, joint venture and teaming agreements.

Mr. Hindman has advised clients competing for and performing contracts with the United States Department of Defense; the Department of Energy, NASA, the Tennessee Valley Authority; the Small Business Administration; the Department of Education; the Social Security Administration; the Food & Drug Administration; the Army Corps of Engineers; FEMA; the Department of Veterans Affairs; the United States Postal Service, and the General Services Administration (Federal Supply Schedule). He also represents clients who compete for or hold contracts with state and local agencies.
