David D. Addison concentrates his practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration and tax law. Much of Mr. Addison’s practice focuses on family wealth transfers, including such devices as revocable and irrevocable trusts, family partnerships, generation-skipping arrangements and charitable trusts.
He frequently advises business owners regarding management succession and the transfer of closely held business interests to family members. Mr. Addison is skilled in all aspects of estate and trust administration.
His years of experience in this area and his knowledge of the income tax, gift tax, estate tax and generation-skipping transfer tax ramifications involved in the administration of estates and trusts enable him to provide quality advice and service in this highly technical area. He has also prepared “gun trusts” for clients who have significant collections of firearms.
Mr. Addison is a member of the American Bar Association and recently served as co-chairman of its Real Property Probate & Trust Law Section’s Insurance Committee. He serves on the Legislative Committee of the Virginia Bar Association’s Wills, Trusts and Estates Section and is a member of the Richmond Bar Association.
