David Mohl focuses his practice on litigating employee benefits disputes and counseling plan sponsors and fiduciaries on litigation avoidance. He has experience litigating various ERISA issues, including those involving employee stock ownership plans (ESOP), benefit termination, investment/fee matters and individual benefit claims.

He also has experience advising plan sponsors and fiduciaries on regulatory compliance matters related to defined contribution retirement plans (401(k) and 403(b)) and defined benefit plans.

David has experience litigating employment issues, including claims for discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination.

David earned his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as executive editor of the Washington University Law Review. He graduated from Truman State University with a B.S. in political science and B.A. in philosophy.

Before joining Alston & Bird, David served as an associate for a leading employee benefits firm where he was responsible for the full life cycle management of federal litigation regarding ERISA disputes and ERISA compliance matters.
